About
The ASSIST project is a three-year initiative co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme. Its primary aim is to reduce discrimination and attitudinal biases amongst healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and psychologists, when assisting women with disabilities throughout all phases of motherhood.
The project’s objective is to foster welcoming and inclusive healthcare services for mothers and women with disabilities. This will be achieved by training medical students and healthcare professionals, supported by a highly innovative Digital Ecosystem. A holistic approach will guide the project, offering a forward-looking training curriculum for current and future healthcare providers, along with outreach and advocacy activities to enhance the capacity of NGOs to drive policy change.
The focus is to foster more positive, inclusive behaviour among medical professionals toward mothers with disabilities, acknowledging that social factors and attitudes have a key role in impacting their experience.
The project is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme, Partnerships for Cooperation in the fields of education and training and youth – European NGO (ERASMUS-2023-PCOOP-ENGO).
