The ASSIST Project Transnational Meeting in Athens

On January 20–21, 2025, the ASSIST Project team convened in the vibrant city of Athens, Greece, for a collaborative Transnational Project Meeting (TPM). The event was hosted by the MSc “Global Health – Disaster Medicine” program at the School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The venue for the meeting was Myrtillo Café, a Social Cooperative Enterprise with the mission of integrating persons with disabilities into the labor market. Since October 2013, Myrtillo has been operating as a café and multi-purpose space for Speech and Art. Today, 90% of Myrtillo’s employees are people with disabilities.

This meeting marked a significant milestone for the ASSIST Project, bringing together consortium partners to discuss project updates and activities. It provided an excellent opportunity to align our goals, refine strategies, and chart bold steps toward a more inclusive future in maternal health.

We were honored to welcome Mrs. Evangelia Georgitsi, Head of the Communication Team / Coordination of Europe Direct Centers from the Representation of the European Commission in Greece. Her invaluable insights enriched our discussions, offering a broader perspective on effective communication and collaboration at the European level.

Looking ahead, the next Transnational Project Meeting is scheduled for June 2025 in Dublin.
